Photokina Report: New Tokina Lens Sample Photos

Tokina Lens gallery

Tokina demoed some exciting new lenses that are about to be released to the public and I've posted samples that I was able to take while visiting their booth at Photokina. The 2 lenses will be available in the Fall of 2006 or early 2007 and cover some very useful optical ranges. One thing that impressed me about these lenses is how solid and well-built they are. Both lenses are metal and feel sturdy and very solid. Tokina has built some impressive quality into these lenses and they should prove to be excellent professional level tools. Tokina 50-135mm
The new Tokina AT-X 535 PRO DX lens offers 50-135mm with a fast constant aperture of f/2.8. This lens gives digital photographers a field of view similar to the industry standard 80-210 telephoto zoom lens in 35mm camera terms, but is much more compact and lightweight. Tokina 10-17mm
The new Tokina AT-X 107 DX is a full-frame fish-eye lens that gives the photographer a 180 degree field of view with dramatic curvature of field or “fish-eye” effect. With this lens an entire view or vista can be captured, wider than the human eye can see. Click here for the image samples.
